Our Gray
I have met my daughter for the first time, again.
Not many people can understand my writing unless you have been there or seen it in someone else's life, but M's issues interfere with us getting to know the real "her".
We feel like on a random basis we meet her... pieces of her.
Never a full picture. Just pieces.
Her pieces are cute.
Her pieces are funny.
Her pieces are so heart felt and loving in her own way.
I nickname her Amelia Bedelia. She is very black and white. No abstract.
No jokes.
No funny sayings.
No "implied" humor
Just flat out black or white.
Well now after 12 weeks of Brain Balance and 7 years of intense therapy... I am meeting her gray.
It is witty.
It is funny.
It is sometimes scary and not filtered
But it is her Gray
It may not be in a rainbow, but we think it should be!

Oh Jaime, I have been thinking about Maddux and you so much over the last couple of days. I am reading Karen Kingsbury's book UNLOCKED. It is about an 18 year old boy who is autistic. He has been trapped by autism since he was 3 years old. It is a fictional book, but Karen does such good research when she writes a book about a certain topic. I have always loved you as a sister and when you became a mom I knew you were going to be a great mom; but after Maddux got lost in the world of autism, I have had such a high level of admiration and respect for you. YOU are the perfect mom for her and God has used YOU to bring her back to our world. Your instincts about her have been spot on from the very beginning so it does not surprise me that she is finding her gray! I love you!
Our son Anthony has been through something very similar to this. Epilepsy, over-medicated, ASD, etc...
GFCF diet helped...a little...but Brain Balance unshackled our young man last summer. The Lord gave us the privilege of seeing Anthony transformed by the 12 week Brain Balance program.
Thank you for sharing this story with the world.
